Malaysians – Always the third class…

MALAYSIANS CAN BE SO TYPICAL AT TIMES IN TERMS OF THEIR THINKING, IN WHICH PORTRAYING THE BAD SIDE OF BEING AN ASIAN COUNTRY, DISGRACING THE IMAGE OF BEING A MALAYSIAN, RUINING THE HARDWORK OF THE OTHERS WHO ARE TRYING TO BE PROUD OF WHAT BEING A TRUE MALAYSIAN IS.

Malaysians are always disgraced by other parts of the world, in which we have a first class facility, and ALWAYS the third class mentality. Even with the tiniest thing couldn’t possibly to be handled well by a Malaysian. No wonder we were looked down by others all the time.

That is why professionalism and ethics always comes into mind, regardless of who you are, where you are and what you do.

I went to the cinema yesterday, located at Sunway Pyramid, in which me and my friends has booked the movie tickets beforehand, and so, we lined up on the redemption area to redeem our booking tickets. But, there was this young man, and since he was young, I doubt he would be educated, in which he has totally no ethics or what-so-ever, he just cut into our lines in which we have waited for long, into the redemption counter. The lady in the counter did not stop them from pursing the purchasing of tickets, but instead, allowing one after another to continue with their purchasing of tickets.

And when I mean purchasing of tickets, I mean buying tickets on the spot WITHOUT BOOKING the tickets at the first place. This is totally unacceptable. Shouldn’t the lady in the counter be professional by asking these customers as it would be fair for others as well, rather than allowing them to move on with their purchase? And shouldn’t that young man line up as I think he would be taught only lining up all his while in his school. So, is this the education problem that we’re looking at again, or is it the discipline of the youngsters that we’re looking at.

Malaysians have such a mentality of “apa-apalah” (translated: whatever), in which they do not even care about rules and regulations, when things can be solved the easy way. This mentality has been going on from generations to generations and I would think that it is time to change the fact.

Small problem like this could affect and change on how people perceive us as an individual, as a group, as a citizen and as a country, as things spread, news spread, even though it is only a small matter. If people would still do things for granted, Malaysia, would never be perceived as a first world country, but will forever be known as a third world country, lived by a third class mentality citizen, and always a third class citizen.
