A Cut Above Charity: Above The Merely Haircut and Charity

WHEN THE NAME ‘CHARITY’ IS MENTIONED, EVERYTHING THAT COMES TO MIND WOULD BE DONATION. BUT THIS TIME, SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A DONATION, AND SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A HAIR CUT APPEARED WITHIN THIS CHARITY.

Ever wonder why it is known as the A Cut Above Charity? My guess would be that “hey, this charity is organized by the A Cut Above Academy, that is why it is known as the A Cut Above Charity.” Partially it is true, but the true meaning of this charity event is to bring something more than just a normal haircut and a normal fund raising kind of charity to the people. This charity haircut brings more meaning to people and to tell people on the importance of charity, as charity can be done, not only through money donation, but in some other form of methods.

Although the test was on for both the A Cut Above Academy students and also for the students of APR2 and AMS2 of TAR College. Relationships, battles, wars happened throughout this whole preparation of this event, testing the toughness of the relationship between all parties. Although it was a tough job for the A Cut Above Academy students to cut so many hairs in just a few days (and FYI, there are only 20 of them and they cut 1,000 heads in just 3 days), and only have a lunch time of only 15 minutes, that was like 3 days of hell for them, but once again, thank you all so much for bringing so much fun and joy for all of us; thank you all for bringing all the happiness to our customers; and thank you for making the whole college hall smells like saloon for 3 days (although I love it, but I think it will smell until we finishes our exam).

It wasn’t only a test of toughness for the A Cut Above Academy students, but also the organizer, as things have to be well planned, preparation for crisis from time to time, impromptu and flexibility among organizers were achieved, and once again, setting a high benchmark for a college event. The organizers placed all the biggest things the audiences have ever met before, just like the biggest monopoly that can be seen around college, the biggest scissors, the biggest puzzle, the biggest amount of prizes given, the most people shaving bald live on stage for charity, the most ambassadors for an event, the most number of hairstylist in college, the first time of having a haircut event in college, the first time of having a saloon smelled college hall, the first time for having hundreds of students lining up in front of the college hall even before the doors were open, the first that that a closing ceremony was so pack with people and there were so many thing and so many first time during this great event.

The hard work among the organizers, the quarrel and arguments among differences of opinions and also the regrets of everything that was not achieved, all ended with a big satisfaction in the heart, not only for the organizers; not only for the student hairstylist; not for those who sacrificed their hairs for charity; but all for the HOSPIS patient, during this Christmas season.

And this is why, the A Cut Above Charity, isn't just merely a haircut nor a charity... but it is definitely something more than that....
